To The Mom Who's Not Sure

Becoming a mother is a beautiful and amazing thing. There are so many changes that happen, and some that you'd never even expect. Everyone's journey is different, and that is part of the beauty of it.

Some people do not see it that way.

For some, becoming a mother is much harder than others. To some, it's a pleasant surprise, and others, it's a much different type of experience that requires a lot of unpleasant shifts. Many people plan for such beauty and others do not see beauty in it at all.

Becoming a mother is an event that you won't forget. Whether it is your first time, or your fourth time, it's not something that escapes you. It is something that grabs onto you, and doesn't let go for the rest of your life. Some people are not ready for it, and others are counting down the days.

Some people feel as though they are letting go of their freedom, while others would give it up in a heartbeat.

Mama, I am here to tell you that YOU CAN.

You can do things that you never imagined. You can achieve those goals that you pushed off as unattainable dreams. You have to. There is no reason not to. Don't push them off because your "plans changed". Don't get to it at a "later date" because you need to "focus on your family". If you are not bettering yourself, I can promise that you are not going to be able to better your family.

You're not sure if you can do the things you once longed to do? Do them. Nothing is stopping you. Maybe you have to change your course and alter the way you get to that goal you were working towards. That's OK. Guess what, there isn't just one path to reach your goals. There isn't just one path to success. Success is achieved when you go after what you want and don't quit. Success is when you show your little one that quitting isn't an option, especially when you're going after something that you've dreamed of.

So teach them to work hard.

Teach them that you don't have to step on other people's toes to get to the top. Teach them that the real way to the top is by bringing others with you and supporting everyone that you can along the way. Teach them that their success is not judged by others, but by themselves. SHOW them that they can do what they want to do no matter what gets thrown in their path.

Teach them that it's OK to rest, but never to quit.
